Africa bidding for the Olympic Games 2036
A DREAM COMES TRUE….
Le bruit courait depuis plusieurs années,
à travers les savanes et les forêt ,
les déserts brûlants et les villes surpeuplées,
que sur le continent africain,
certains pays , avec conviction, se préparaient
pour accueillir des Olympiens et Paralympiens.
Des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques??
Quoi, en Afrique??
« What would be a dream if it actually never happens? »
Ce vendredi 3 février 2023, les élèves de 2des de Mmes Chaar Ben Sassi et Hamadbachir, constitués en 10 Comités Nationaux Olympiques ont été les porte-parole d’un pays africain, candidat pour accueillir les Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2036.

Leur tâche: convaincre les membres du Comité International Olympique de la pertinence de la candidature de leur pays. Convaincre oui, mais en anglais, convaincre oui, mais en public, user d’arguments pertinents, mettre en valeur ses idéaux, créer une affiche et des logos, maîtriser sa gestuelle et … surtout vaincre son stress qui s’installe avant de s’exprimer devant un jury.
Chaque élève a fait preuve d’un investissement sans faille, d’une grande créativité et d’efforts de communication pour surmonter les difficultés, les obstacles. Ce lundi 6 février étant la journée de sensibilisation aux DYS, nous en profitons pour féliciter tout particulièrement l’implication de ces élèves dans ce challenge.
Nous remercions chaleureusement les membres du jury, représentant(e)s de l’ Association des Parents d’Elèves qui ont accepté d’être membres du Comité Olympique International: Mmes Ben Hadj Yahia Mounira, Baccar Nawel, Ben Cherifa Mounira, Bennani Driss Fatma, Chenoufi Raded, Souki Rabia Sonia, Sassi Meriem et M.Touraine. Nous remercions également nos proviseurs M. Bousquet et M. Verbeke, Mmes Lahouar et Chridi, M. Spina, sans oublier tous nos agents techniques qui ont permis la tenue de cet évènement et offert non seulement une expérience unique à tous, mais aussi les cadeaux remis aux membres du jury et aux équipes gagnantes.
Le pays ayant remporté la candidature au concours à la première session (2des 1,2,3,4) est le Nigéria.
Le pays ayant remporté la candidature au concours à la deuxième session (2des 5,9,10) ,est le Zimbabwe.

Our second-form students were honoured to stand before the IOC on Friday 3rd, 2023, as representatives of the African countries bidding for the 2036 Olympic Games. This has been a challenging and rewarding experience for them. For many students, this was their first experience in public speaking, and we are proud that they have risen to the occasion. They gained a better understanding of the concerned countries’ economies, politics, culture, history, geography, and Olympic venues as a result of their research. They have worked tirelessly to design logos and flyers, write catchy mottoes, and deliver speeches that reflect the spirit of Africa. Through their productions and speeches, the students highlighted that Africa is a dynamic and vibrant continent, with a rich history and a bright future. They proved to be committed to showcasing the best of Africa to the IOC and hoped their bid would make a lasting impression on the International Olympic committee.
Dear 2nde form students, we praise you all for your outstanding work and contributions. Your dedication, passion, and hard work have been instrumental in making this bid a reality. Your commitment and determination have inspired and encouraged us, teachers, to go further in this project.
Dear jury members and APE PMF, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for being a part of this exciting journey. We would also like to thank you for your fairness and impartiality during the bidding process. We greatly appreciate your commitment to the project and look forward to working together again in the future.
We are truly grateful to our headmasters Mr Bousquet and Mr Verbeke, as well as Mrs Lahouar, Mrs Chridi, Mr Spina and our technicians, for all the support they have given us along the way. Their contributions and coordination have played a significant role in ensuring the success of this project.
